Job Description

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic USV Master based at our state-of-the-art Perth Remote Operations Centre (PROC). This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the safe and efficient operation of Uncrewed Surface Vessels across various offshore projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure safe navigation and operation of the USV during all missions.

  • Monitor weather systems and provide timely updates to Operations and Project Management teams.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including logbooks, passage plans, and navigational records.

  • Oversee the functionality of USV equipment and report any defects or hazards.

  • Support survey operations by planning routes and monitoring data quality.

About You

This role will suit someone who is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment. Your ability to keep calm under pressure, communicate proactively with a sense of responsibility and curiosity, will help you excel in this role.

We are looking for:

  • AMSA Certificate of Competency Master <24m

  • Proven experience in vessel navigation and remote operations, ideally with USVs or similar autonomous systems.

  • Strong understanding of maritime safety protocols and weather monitoring.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with project and operations teams in a dynamic environment.

  • Experience in survey planning and data quality assurance is highly desirable.

Nice to have:

  • Electrical background, communications & networking.

  • Experience with smaller ROV’s.
