Job Description

Join our USV (Uncrewed Surface Vessel) production team! Fugro is leading this development, and you can be part of it.

As integration engineer, you are responsible for design updates, configurations, and installation of survey equipment into newly build USV’s.

You play a key role in the process of initial commissioning all the way to delivery to the end user. As our ideal candidate, you bring in solid knowledge of survey sensors, marine equipment and software.

Projects are prepared and engineered from our office in Nootdorp while realization is partly done at supplying yards in the area of Rotterdam and at our outfitting facility in Steenwijk. In this dynamic role, you travel between the office, test locations and international locations including our commissioning facility in UK.

Your role

  • Liaise closely with the USV team to plan the integration of survey /ICT equipment and outline acceptance criteria and testing deliverables;

  • Pre-configure the survey & ICT equipment ensuring correct hardware/software is available and the network requirement are known;

  • Integrate the survey & ICT equipment, including third party sensors into the vessel as per pre-defined schematic/design & Schedule;

  • Verify the equipment integration by completing a testing program and report on documented results;

  • Provide onsite support during product commissioning assisting with the testing and operation of the survey / ICT equipment;

  • Liaise and coordinate with third party suppliers;

  • Providing technical support to commissioning teams and end users.

Your track record

  • You have a bachelor’s degree of electrical engineering or another relevant field;

  • You have at least 3 years of work experience in a similar role;

  • You have a solid knowledge of networking and IT systems;

  • Electrical experience with mains (230V AC) and low voltage (12-48V DC) equipment;

  • You are familiar with survey equipment testing and configuration (GNSS systems, multibeam, Edgetech sidescan sonars. etc).
