Job Description

Join our USV (Uncrewed Surface Vessel) production team! Fugro is leading this development, and you can be part of it.

As Marine Engineer, you are responsible for defining vessel requirements and specifications while supervising suppliers during the design and production phases. In this role , you ensure that vessels meet operational, safety, and regulatory standards by providing technical oversight, guidance, and expertise throughout the development process.

You operate within the Sea-kit engineering department, which is currently part of Fugro Innovation & Technology. You are key in the organization's mission to deliver high-quality unmanned surface vessel (usv) solutions.

Your role

  • Define technical requirements and specifications for vessel design, mission equipment, and operational performance;

  • Supervise and provide technical guidance to suppliers during the engineering and production phases;

  • Ensure compliance with design specifications, industry regulations, and company standards;

  • Conduct technical reviews, document control, and approval processes related to supplier engineering output;

  • Oversee hull and system inspections to verify quality and adherence to specifications;

  • Coordinate with internal teams to incorporate operational needs into design requirements;

  • Support vessel commissioning and testing to validate design integrity, stability, and performance.

Your track record

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields;

  • Experience in shipbuilding supervision, supplier management, and technical compliance;

  • Strong understanding of vessel design principles, stability, hydromechanics, and propulsion;

  • Familiarity with classification societies and international maritime regulations;

  • Ability to oversee supplier engineering processes and ensure adherence to specifications;

  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills;

  • Proficiency in engineering review, documentation control, and quality assurance;
