Job Description

At Fugro’s headquarters in the Netherlands, we are seeking a Product Director to spearhead the development and commercialization of a diverse product portfolio. In this role, you will define and communicate a strategic vision that aligns with the company’s long-term objectives and market opportunities. You will oversee the discovery, development, and commercialization of both new and existing products, ensuring optimal resource allocation across multiple offerings to maximize portfolio value.

As Product Director you will be responsible for managing Fugro’s innovations and associated teams within our geophysical survey portfolio. Our marine site screening services are vital to our operations, providing comprehensive seabed mapping and hazard identification to support project planning.

Your role

  • Strategic Vision and Portfolio Management – Define and communicate the vision and strategy for the product portfolio, ensuring alignment with company goals and market opportunities;

  • Cross-Functional Leadership and Team Development – Build and lead the Product Family team, fostering collaboration across departments and mentoring Product Managers and stakeholders;

  • Market and Competitive Analysis – Conduct in-depth research, engage with stakeholders, and analyze trends to maintain a competitive edge and inform strategic decisions;

  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization – Establish Product Family OKRs, track performance, and implement data-driven improvements to enhance efficiency and effectivenes;

  • Stakeholder Communication and Reporting – Provide regular updates to Executive Leadership and key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and addressing concerns;

  • Organizational Collaboration – Work closely with global and regional business leaders, sales, marketing, and innovation teams to drive product development and business growth;

  • Financial and Commercial Oversight – Manage resource allocation, profitability, and value creation across the portfolio, ensuring financial sustainability;

  • Technology Leadership and Innovation – Push the boundaries of digital technologies, drive early technology adoption, and lead innovation efforts;

  • Change Management and Cultural Transformation – Act as a change agent, driving organizational and cultural development while navigating ambiguity effectively;

  • Influencing and Negotiation – Work effectively with peers, colleagues, and partners to positively impact business performance and negotiate strategic opportunities;

Your track record

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in Product Development, Senior Project Management and/or Business Development;

  • You showcase strong commercial and financial acumen, cross-cultural awareness, the ability to effectively communicate and build relationships at all levels;

  • You have a clear and concise way of communicating and a clear sense of purpose and a positive attitude to work with individuals, teams and stakeholders;

  • You are able to demonstrate your expertise in stakeholder engagement and are able to communicate at all levels of the organisation;

  • You have excellent English language skills, both written and oral.
