ROV Superintendent

A number of exciting opportunities have arisen for experienced ROV Superintendents to join us here at Fugro. The ROV Superintendent is concerned with running the ROV/s with an offshore team, under instructions from the Project Managers.

Job responsibilities:

  • Carrying out management duties expected offshore.

  • Ensuring effective communications with onboard clients and offshore team.

  • Training/assessing of Supervisor, Senior Pilot Technician and Pilot Technician Grades.

  • Organizing and managing the team in conjunction with the Project Manager.

  • Interfacing with our clients.

  • Ensure the Supervisor, Senior Pilot Technician and Pilot Technician carry out all tasks following the procedures.

  • While offshore, depending on the nature of the project, you may be working closely with the team of Surveyors and Engineers to ensure all ROV equipment is working effectively, and data is collected efficiently and accurately.  You will communicate regularly with the team onboard the vessel and, when required, clients.

You bring (qualifications & experience)

  • Previous experience of working as an ROV Superintendent or Senior ROV Supervisor at offshore worksites.

  • Comprehensive understanding of mobilisations, operations and fault finding of work-class and eyeball specification ROVs.

  • Nationally recognised technical or trade qualification and / or appropriate level national vocational qualification in one or more of the following subjects: electrical, electronics, hydraulics, mechanics.

  • Ability to work offshore for prolonged periods of time.

  • Technical / Engineering qualification to a minimum Tertiary education level

  • Must hold a relevant ROV Superintendent or Senior Supervisor competency

  • Must have minimum 2 years of experience in the position as ROV Senior Supervisor to be considered

  • Experience working with work class systems will be highly advantageous

  • Holds valid Offshore Medical Certificate

  • Holds valid Opito approved Offshore Survival Certificate

  • Self-motivated and a practical problem solver

  • Good spoken and written English communications skills
