Fugro’s statement on the war in Ukraine.

Over the past weeks we have seen, with disbelief and great sadness, the tragic war in Ukraine unfold. We are deeply moved by the suffering of the Ukrainian people and our hearts go out to them. We strongly oppose the use of force and violence by Russia against Ukraine.

Fugro’s purpose is to help build a safe and liveable world. The current events have no place in such a world. To underline this, Fugro is suspending its limited operations in Russia.

Fugro has identified a small number of international projects in which Russian companies or individuals directly or indirectly participate. Fugro fully adheres to the sanctions imposed and will continue to monitor developments to ensure it remains compliant.

Although we do not have active operations in Ukraine, the war has a clear and immediate impact on some of our colleagues and their families. Particularly affected are those in Fugro’s vessel operations, where colleagues from Ukraine and Russia are part of our marine crews. Fugro has immediately set up teams tasked with providing tangible support for colleagues and their families impacted by this crisis.

Update June 2022

Since our statement of 8 March 2022, Fugro has worked on unwinding its activities in Russia. Fugro has now fully ceased operations in Russia.
