Fugro secures a major geotechnical site investigation contract for offshore wind farm in Taiwan

Fugro has been awarded a significant contract for the 700 MW Youde offshore wind farm by Shinfox Energy in Taiwan’s Round 3.2 offshore wind tender. Under this contract, Fugro will deliver comprehensive geotechnical services to support the development of the Youde project, located off the west coast of Taiwan. This award reinforces Fugro’s position as a partner in the global offshore wind sector and highlights our continued commitment to supporting Taiwan’s ambitious renewable energy targets. The Youde offshore wind farm project is a cornerstone of Taiwan’s strategy to reach 13.1 GW of installed offshore wind capacity by 2030.

These projects are part of TenneT Germany’s 2 GW programme, a major initiative that aims to connect at least 14 offshore connection systems to the onshore electricity grid, delivering clean energy to up to 35 million European households.

Fugro joins CAMMera consortium to clear corroding explosives from European waters
Fugro has joined the Clearance Activities for Marine Munitions through Efficient Remediation Approaches (CAMMera) consortium, led by GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel. This three-year initiative aims to develop innovative, safe, and environmentally responsible methods to remove unexploded World War I and II munitions from European seas, where 1.6 million tonnes are estimated to lie on the seafloor of the German Baltic and North Sea alone.

These efforts will help Small Island Developing States (SIDS) respond more effectively to rising sea levels, intensifying storms and other climate-related threats.
