The Opportunity
If you like working with Maps, spatial data and enjoy a fast-paced role working with high volume of data, then this might be the perfect opportunity for you.
Due to staff movements, we have a rare opening for an Aviation Data Acquisition Analyst to help our project teams deliver high‑quality survey data for our client’s assets.
The data is captured using advanced lidar scanning techniques and high-quality imagery. The purpose of this role is to ensure that the project’s data acquisition activities are planned, captured, and delivered to client specifications. A summary of the role activities is listed below:
Assigning acquisition parameters (before capture):
Create safe, efficient and accurate flight plans that fit projects specs, ensuring the plans cover area of interests
Create aviation charts for the field crew to operate in controlled airspaces
Prescribe and confirm settings of survey equipment that meet project specifications
Provide full work instructions package necessary for capture acitivities to field crew across our multiple sensors and projects
During capture:
Monitor data capture activities and work with the field crew remotely as required to ensure it meets client requirements
After capture:
Review data outputs from our surveys in GIS software
Ensuring data is captured correctly to clients’ specifications
QA and QC
To ensure we meet client expectations, this role will require a few hours (1 – 3hrs or so) of weekend work every couple of weeks.
About You
Your love for working with maps within the aviation space, coupled with your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where information and data can come from multiple directions will see you successful in this role.
In addition, we are looking for someone who has:
GIS, Geospatial qualifications
Experience using QGIS, ArcPro, Microsoft suite
o Vector processing
o GIS manipulation
o Map creation
o Spatial Data Projection knowledgeA curiosity/ growth / learning mindset where challenges are seen as opportunities
The ability to take ownership of tasks and outcomes
Nice to have but not essential:
Spatial Data literacy
Aerial capture, survey capture experience
