The Opportunity
We have a rare opportunity for a Lead or Senior Structural Engineer to join our progressive team of industry experts based in our West Perth office. You will work with our inter-disciplinary engineering team on marine inspection, repair and maintenance projects with a diverse range of clients.
Your duties will include:
Working with Discipline Lead, Design Engineers, and Draftspersons to deliver designs and reports that meet the project, industry, and technical requirements.
Design of Permanent subsea materials and installation aids/structures.
Generation and completion of sea fastening designs and calculations.
Delivering fit for purpose solutions for assigned structural engineering scopes.
Performing appropriate analyses, design calculations, and reports that reflect installation methodology and in accordance with industry recognised design standards.
As required, attend site to monitor fabrication and sea fastening at fabricators facilities and at vessel mobilisations.
About You
We are seeking someone who can look at a situation from all angles and make design decisions that are efficient and effective. Your analytical mind and strong attention to detail, mixed with your ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, will be strong assets in this role.
We are looking for the following:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering: Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Naval Architecture, or similar degrees will be considered.
Proven knowledge of and experience in structural design of permanent offshore/subsea structures in accordance with industry codes and standards, including:
ISO 19902 - Fixed Steel Offshore Structures and ASIC 360 - Specification for Steel Structural Buildings
Other related codes such as: DNV-ST-N001 - Marine operations and marine warranty; API RA 2A - API Planning, Designing and Constructing Fixed Offshore Platforms; DNV Mooring codes and standards
Competency in Solidworks simulation (or similar FEA package).
Experience in lifting analysis / engineering.
Willingness to travel to site as required.
