Job Description

For our Group Accounting and Reporting team, we are looking for a Controller Consolidation and Reporting. Based in our headquarters at Nootdorp. This is a role with genuine international exposure in a publicly listed Dutch company—an opportunity to grow, influence, and make your mark on a global scale.

Within our Group Accounting & Reporting team, you will be at the heart of our global financial backbone. You take ownership of the integrity of our consolidated financial reporting, the quality of our project accounting, and the strength of our internal control environment. Your work directly shapes the reliability of the numbers that drive strategic decisions across the organisation. In this role, you collaborate with a wide network of specialists—Group Control, Internal Audit, Corporate Finance, our Finance Shared Service Centres, Treasury, Tax, and controllers across business units worldwide. You act as a trusted partner, connecting the dots between technical accounting, operational insights, and system-driven reporting.

You bring a strong blend of accounting expertise, process understanding, and system affinity. Professional integrity is second nature to you, and you enjoy working in an environment where high standards go hand in hand with a positive, down‑to‑earth team culture.

Your role

  • You take part in the consolidation and reporting of all Fugro financial entities and produce IFRS compliant information for external reporting of Fugro Group.

  • Analyse financial figures, coordinate reporting processes, identify data irregularities or data quality issues, and ensure corrective actions are taken in order to maintain the integrity of financial data.

  • Ensuring group accounting policies are applied consistently across the group and are properly maintained and updated when required.

  • You work closely together with the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team to provide meaningful analysis of the financial figures for the period and how these are driven by performance on our projects.

  • You provide training, maintain and update application guidance and liaise with the team responsible for a global ERP roll-out to ensure it captures the requirements from an accounting perspective including for project accounting.

  • Drive continuous improvements in our reporting and consolidation process including our consolidation tool (CCH Tagetik).

  • You contribute to the design, development, and documentation of appropriate internal controls over financial reporting.

  • You participate in in-depth topic reviews and ad-hoc projects, which (amongst others) include IFRS 15 revenue recognition, IFRS 9 expected credit loss model, IFRS 16 lease accounting, IFRS 18 Presentation and Disclosure in Financial Statements, FX-exposure, and ESG reporting (CSRD, ESRS and EU Taxonomy).

Your track record

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance, ideally complemented by RA, CA, or ACCA qualifications;

  • Minimum of five years’ audit experience within a Big Four firm, or experience as a (financial) controller at group level within an international or complex matrix organisation operating under tight deadlines;

  • Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) with proven hands‑on application;

  • Experience working with project‑based organisations and related accounting processes;

  • Advanced Excel skills and a strong motivation to adopt new data‑driven systems and applications; experience with Microsoft Power BI is an advantage;

  • Familiarity with the CCH Tagetik consolidation tool is preferred, or a strong willingness to become a trained user for consolidation activities;

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

What Fugro offers

  • Based on your relevant experience, the salary ranges from €5.780 to €7.710. This amount is part of our salary range, with opportunities for growth within the role;

  • 29 holidays per year based on a fulltime employment (of which 4 are appointed by Fugro management) and the possibility to purchase 12 additional days;

  • Extensive career & training opportunities both nationally and internationally;

  • Flexible working hours and the ability to work from home in accordance with your manager and corporate policies;

  • Commuting allowance;

  • Modern pension scheme;

  • Collective health insurance;

  • Possibility to register with our corporate fitness plan;

  • Coaching options through our EAP (Employee Assistance Program).
