Job Description
At Fugro, we’re passionate about creating safe, sustainable, and efficient solutions that support some of the world’s most meaningful marine and land-based projects. As our new Yard Supervisor, you’ll play a key part in keeping our operations running smoothly by organising, maintaining, and continuously improving our busy Falmouth yard. Working closely with our Workshop Manager and a supportive team, you’ll help ensure the right equipment is in the right place at the right time directly contributing to the success of our offshore, subsea, and marine installation projects.
This is a full-time, on-site role (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work), offering variety, autonomy, and the chance to make a visible impact every day. You’ll also travel regularly to our Wheal Jane site using company workshop vehicles. If you thrive in a hands-on environment where no two days are the same, this could be the perfect next step.
Your role and responsibilities
Expectations & Deliverables
Ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient day-to-day operation of the yard, maintaining high standards of organisation and compliance.
Maintain accurate oversight of goods coming into and leaving the facility, ensuring all documentation and quality checks are correctly completed.
Manage yard layout and storage, making sure all equipment, plant, and materials are accessible, well maintained, and stored in the correct locations.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate yard activities across the Falmouth Workshop and Wheal Jane sites, liaising closely with Plant Managers, the Workshop Manager, and wider project teams.
Oversee the maintenance and safe operation of all yard plant and equipment.
Support lifting operations, ensuring they are carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
Manage equipment scrapping processes in line with Fugro guidelines.
Drive a positive safety culture by promoting safe working practices and leading by example.
What you’ll need to thrive in this role
Experience managing a yard or similar facility, ideally within an industrial, marine, construction, or engineering environment.
Strong understanding of safe working practices, including lifting operations and plant operation.
Confident people leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate others effectively and inclusively.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, especially when completing QA or operational documentation.
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel frequently to Wheal Jane using company vehicles.
Experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams is desirable
Familiarity with marine, workshop, or offshore support operations.
