Job Purpose:

Ensures functionality and reliability of machines, engines and mechanical systems by 1) performing moderately complex and varied construction, operation, maintenance and repair of (measurement) equipment so that measurements of the required quality can be made in time in the field, 2) helping seek solutions for improvement of equipment, working processes and safety, 3) taking on tasks that have been escalated by more junior team members. Guides more junior team members. Works with limited supervision on moderately complex and varied tasks. Requires senior secondary vocational education or equivalent professional and intellectual capacities and has at least 3 years of relevant work experience. The job is performed in the field and/or workshop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting and assisting the Workshop Manager in planning & coordinating day-to-day maintenance activities at the workshop, project sites, and warehouse.

  • Coordinate closely with site mechanics, drillers, project teams, logistics, accounts, and procurement to ensure uninterrupted operation and timely maintenance support.

  • Maintain and update databases for workshop and site-deployed machines and rigs.

  • Plan, monitor, and track preventive maintenance schedules to improve equipment reliability and productivity.

  • Ensure availability of critical spares and consumables by maintaining optimum stock levels.

  • Maintain daily operational records, including:

    • Equipment hour meter (HRM) readings

    • Daily log sheets

    • Breakdown and repair reports

  • Manage and update spare parts and accessories inventory records.

  • Conduct site visits to deployed machines and rigs as and when required for inspection, coordination, and issue resolution.

  • Support cost control initiatives by minimizing breakdowns, downtime, and emergency repairs.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • A minimum of 10+ years of proven experience.

  • Must have B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Strong communicator. Promotes open communication across the organization. Empowers & connects other people with positive impact, provides energy and demonstrates passion, trust & respect.

  • Takes ownership and initiative, acts with confidence, and works under own direction.

HSE Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring the safety of self and others at the site. Prevent damage to equipment and assets. Responsible for following all safety signs/procedures/ safe working practices. Responsible for using appropriate PPE. Responsible for participating in mock drills. Entitled to refuse to undertake any activity considered unsafe. Responsible for filling up of hazard observation card, wherever a hazard has been noticed at the site. Responsible for safe housekeeping of his workplace. To stop any operation that is deemed unsafe. To be able to operate a fire extinguisher in case of fire. To report an incident as soon as possible to the immediate supervisor and the HSE manager. To complete HSE training as instructed to do so.
