Job Description

Join Fugro’s Fleet Services Technical Department and take a key role in shaping the future of documentation management across our global fleet. As Lead Document Controller, you’ll oversee a team of 4–5 document controllers while actively contributing to day-to-day operations (50/50).

You’ll be responsible for the governance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of technical documentation for Fugro-owned vessels and uncrewed surface vehicles (USVs). Document control is essential to our operations, ensuring that all records are accurate, accessible, and reflect the true “as-built” status of both active assets and newbuild or conversion projects.

Your role

  • Provide leadership to the document control team, ensuring excellence in documentation quality, consistency, and accessibility;

  • Maintain accurate and current technical documentation for vessels and USVs, reflecting true “as-built” status;

  • Oversee documentation processes for newbuild and conversion projects, supporting engineering and project delivery teams;

  • Promote and optimize the use of SharePoint and related platforms to enhance document management workflows;

  • Foster close collaboration with Fleet Development Managers, Project Managers, and global technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and operational efficiency.

Your trackrecord

  • You have at least 5 years’ experience in document control within technical project environments, preferably within ship management or shipbuilding;

  • You have strong leadership and organizational skills;

  • You are proficient in MS Office and document management systems (including SharePoint and Power Automate);

  • You have a proactive mindset with a passion for accuracy and continuous improvement;

  • Excellent command of English (written and verbal).

  • Based on your relevant experience, the salary ranges from €3800 to €4500. This amount is part of our salary range, with opportunities for growth within the role;
