Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Team Lead to drive the development of our Platform Automation for Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs). This includes autopilot system and scalable PLC-based control systems across multiple USV classes. As Team Lead, you will guide a multidisciplinary technical team, collaborate with product and project stakeholders, and ensure the delivery of robust, modular, and reusable control solutions.
Your role
You work closely with the Product Owner and Project Manager to align technical solutions with product requirements and goals;
This role involves collaboration with third-party suppliers to source and integrate necessary software components and systems.
Additionally, you will coordinate with teams based in different geographical locations to ensure seamless integration and functionality of USV systems.
You lead and mentor a team of engineers developing PLC-based control systems for USV’s and you oversee the design, implementation, and testing of modules such as Autopilot, Propulsion control, Joystick control etc.
You ensure platform scalability and reusability across different USV classes.
You drive continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and system architecture and facilitate sprint planning, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
You ensure compliance with safety, cybersecurity, and marine standards.
What you bring along
Degree in Software/Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field and 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, embedded systems, or marine control systems.
Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming (e.g., CODESYS, e!COCKPIT, IEC 61131-3).
Proven leadership experience in a technical or team lead role.
Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g., NMEA, CAN, Modbus, MQTT).
Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, etc.).
English: Proficient
Excellent communication and coordination skills, hands-on experience working onsite during testing, commissioning, or integration and a proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership and make decisions.
