Job Description

At TotaLite, we’re transforming how critical infrastructure is monitored with smart optical sensors that detect millimetre‑level movements in real time. Our hardware, software, and data products are built for real‑world use, which means our interfaces must be fast, clear, and dependable, because customers rely on them for crucial decisions.

As our Senior Frontend Engineer, you own everything the user sees: our monitoring platform, dashboards, and mobile apps. You work with real sensor data powering real‑world infrastructure, and you shape how the product looks, feels, and evolves. This isn’t a role where you just pick up tickets: you turn product intent into smart UI decisions and keep the team focused on what matters.

You collaborate closely with backend, data, and leadership, but you drive frontend choices and execution. You ship fast, iterate, and push back when complexity doesn’t serve the user. If you rely on perfect specs or heavy stakeholder alignment to move, this role won’t fit you.

Your role

  • You own the frontend of our asset monitoring platform, dashboards, and internal tools and turn product goals into clear, usable interfaces and flows;

  • You keep things simple, fast, and shippable, you code and evolve complex, data-driven dashboards used by infrastructure professionals;

  • You convert designs into functional React components, scaffold new pages and continuously improve UI consistency, performance, and usability;

  • You collaborate closely with backend engineers to shape APIs and data flows, and drive what the backend needs to build rather than just consuming what exists;

  • You build visualisations that make complex geo-data immediately understandable by using e.g. ThreeJS, Canvas, etc.;

  • You help keep the product focused as we scale by less overthinking, using third parties where needed and more execution.

Your track record

  • You have in-depth experience building front-end applications with React and modern CSS (e.g., Tailwind) and affinity for functional programming; Elixir/Phoenix experience is a plus;

  • You have a proven track record shipping 0→1 products in startup or scale-up environments and in building and owning dashboards at a startup or scaleup;

  • You are a product-minded engineer with a builder mindset, strong UI detail orientation, and comfort with ambiguity;

  • You are familiar with hardware‑driven products and mobile app development or coordination (bonus) and have made active use of AI tools as a core productivity multiplier (non‑negotiable);

  • You have the ability to make user‑centric decisions and work with real‑world, data‑heavy or complex visualisations;

What Fugro offers
