Fugro’s Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs) are revolutionizing the maritime industry—enabling safer, more sustainable operations for subsea inspections, seafloor mapping, and environmental monitoring.

As a Software Engineer USV, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team developing real-time remote-control solutions that directly impact sectors like energy, infrastructure, and sustainability.

Your role

• You develop and test control modules for commanding, state management and data aggregation for steering and monitoring our remote-controlled vessels;

• You contribute to the design and integration of vessel control systems;

• You participate in field testing and data collection to validate system performance;

• You collaborate with software, mechanical and electrical engineers to build robust software platforms;

• You write clean, maintainable code and follow best practices in software development (e.g.; version control, code reviews and testing);

• You support the transition of research concepts into deployable, field-ready systems;

Your track record

• You have a BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Robotics and/or Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in a related field;

• You are proficient in developing C++ applications for Linux;

• You are familiar with containerization solutions;

• You have experience with industrial automation systems and IoT solutions;

• You are a strong communicator and team player, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
