Job Description
The Senior HSSE Compliance Advisor is responsible for providing comprehensive oversight and management of non-project HSSE activities, with particular emphasis on facilities and ensuring both internal and external compliance. The role aims to add significant business value through early and proactive engagement with service lines, function heads and other stakeholders to ensure HSSE support needs are identified, assessed, planned, resourced and effectively executed.
Job Responsibilities
Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
Oversee both internal and external HSSE auditing programs to ensure management system compliance and the maintenance of external certifications (i.e., ISO 9001/14001/45001).
Support the identification and assessment of risks associated with non-project HSSE activities
Support the development of comprehensive risk assessments for Fugro facilities and their site-specific activities.
Review and provide feedback on regulatory and other compliance requirements.
Identify HSSE cost considerations for inclusion in functional work/budgets.
Provide HSSE subject matter expertise as required to support non-project activities.
Proactive and deliberate early engagements with stakeholders to collaborate, identify and agree on HSSE needs to ensure optimum planning, preparation, budgeting, support and scheduling of HSSE resources.
Identify and communicate areas of potential risk exposure to relevant management.
Verify adherence to internal and external requirements while driving and supporting a cultural transformation focused on consistent focus on proactive HSSE principals.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure HSSE best practices and lessons learned are integrated into business operations.
Monitor and report on HSSE performance, ensuring continuous improvement
Coordinate emergency planning response activities and ensure drills are executed and learned from
Coordinate and participate in a post-activity debriefs to identify gaps, lessons learned, opportunities for improvement, and best practices.
Job Requirements
Authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
Possess a high school diploma required. Bachelor degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
Have 7 years or more experience in HSSE role, preferably in a similar industry or operations management role.
ISO 9001/14001/45001 audit experience required.
Certification in HSSE (i.e. NEBOSH, CSP, IOSH, or equivalent) preferred.
Possess strong working knowledge of computers and fluent in a variety of software applications (including but not limited to MS Office).
Possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
