Job Description

The AP/AR Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction for both the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions across the company. This includes full-cycle AP and AR management, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.

  • Manage the accounts payable process, ensuring proper recording and approval of disbursement activity, including Wire, ACH, Checks, within required deadlines.

  • Oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, collections, and reconciliation of customer accounts.

  • Develop and update company policies and procedures for AP and AR functions and provide training to key stakeholders as necessary.

  • Provide hands-on leadership to the AP and AR teams to achieve a high degree of accurate and timely services to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Manage and oversee the maintenance of vendor and customer files for accurate records.

  • Ensure compliance with tax filings, including 1099s, 1042s, sales and use tax returns, and other relevant documentation.

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities for travel and entertainment expense function.

  • Deliver periodic AP and AR reporting, assist with month-end close duties, and other tasks as necessary.

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators for both AP and AR functions.

  • Partner and communicate with various internal and external parties, serving as the main point of contact for suppliers and customers on AP and AR related questions.

  • Support and encourage continuous improvement of the company’s processes, including safety program and quality management system.

  • Responsible for direct management of department staff, i.e. hiring, training, performance, etc.

Job Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting or related discipline

  • Have 10 years or more of progressive accounts payable and accounts receivable experience.

  • Have a minimum of 5 years in a direct people management role required.

  • Able to lead Jr operations accounting staff, develop, coach, mentor.

  • Experience with successfully setting up, developing, managing, and innovating the AP and AR functions.

  • Shared services experience highly preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Must be able to work under minimal supervision, prioritize workload, and adapt to changing business needs or deadlines.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey information in a clear and concise manner to various internal/external stakeholders.

  • Proactive in identifying problems and taking actions to resolve.

  • Strong capabilities working with Microsoft Office, including Excel (v-lookups, pivot), SharePoint, Outlook, and Word.
