Are you an analytical mind with a hunger for identifying and pursuing new opportunities?
We're seeking a dynamic Business Development and Sales Manager for our Climate & Nature Team. In this role, you are key in expanding our global footprint within the water and environmental sector.
You take the lead in priority markets including flood management, integrated coastal zone management, integrated water resources management, and ecosystem conservation and restoration. Together with the Business Development Director and other Business Development Managers, you co-shape commercial strategies and implement them together with our regional teams (specifically APAC and Middle East).
As our ideal candidate, you are an experienced expert and business developer thought leader in the water management, coastal resilience and/or ocean health domain. You have a proven track record in developing opportunities and winning work in these domains within an established industry and government network. Preferably you worked for one of the international engineering consultancy firms
You have the ambition to grow with us and expand our contribution into new markets and client types. We can’t wait to meet you!
Your role
You co-develop a Climate & Nature go-to-market strategy in priority markets;
Together with the regions you grow our opportunity pipeline especially in coastal and flood management projects;
You establish client programs aimed at capitalizing on market opportunities to create a profitable business model in future markets;
You develop client programs driven by data insights to establish a Geo-data value proposition for emerging markets;
You create and implement scalable Geo-data value propositions in our priority markets together with our market solutions team;
You convert opportunities in winning proposals;
You build long-term relationships & brand presence as trusted advisor, understand clients & needs, understand value to clients. You do this by being pragmatic and client-focused, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Your track record
You have a master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. coastal engineering, civil engineering, physical geography etc);
You have a proven track record (>10 years) as an expert and (>5 years) in business development/ commercial roles within the water/ environmental industry, with a focus on climate and nature-related services;
You have a deep understanding of Geo-data and its applications in climate and nature projects;
You have knowledge of, and a network in, the broader climate and nature sectors, a network in APAC/ Middle East and with International Financing Institutes will be advantageous;
You have excellent English language skills both written and oral.
