As the ROADS Engineering Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Product Manager to ensure that our engineering initiatives are in sync with product development goals. Together, the role will drive innovation by investigating new technologies and expanding our product portfolio. The engineering manager will also forge strategic technical partnerships to enhance our capabilities and broaden our market presence. This individual will be pivotal in addressing customer feedback, ensuring our products not only meet but surpass user expectations. By continuously improving and diversifying our offerings, this management opportunity will help us stay ahead of industry trends and meet the evolving needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

  • Provide thought leadership of technical strategy from ideation to production of the service line’s products.

  • Manage resources and budgets necessary to support the engineering initiatives.

  • Develop strategic partnerships with academia and complimentary industry partners.

  • Collaborate with the product manager and other stakeholders to define product requirements and respective development roadmaps ensuring the successful development and launch of new products. This includes management of real-time acquisition and software developments including embedded systems, web applications, and cloud based microservices.

  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to manage risks and ensure the highest standards of product quality and reliability.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of engineering processes.

Job Requirements:

  • Possesses at minimum bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field is required. Relevant certifications or credentials in system engineering or system management are advantageous.

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience as an Engineering Manager or in a similar role, including a proven track record in hardware systems integration and cloud-based digital workflow development.

  • Ability to lead and develop high-performing engineering teams, with strong leadership, teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in developing strategic partnerships with academic and industry partners.

  • Proficiency in project management, including the use of project planning and management software. A PMP certification is preferred.

  • Creativity and thought leadership to identify and execute initiatives that positively impact the business.

  • Must be willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally.

  • Travel requirement up to 20% for this job opportunity.
