The role:
As a Senior Project Engineer, based out of our Aberdeen facility, you'll be supporting the MAI (Marine Asset Integrity) Engineering Department with technical and day to day organisational duties in support of our operational projects.
Fugro Aberdeen is at the heart of Fugro’s drive for innovation and delivery excellence in subsea engineering. Our engineering team is tasked with supporting our regional operations with innovative solutions in support of Fugro’s and our Client’s subsea operations across oil & gas, renewables, and decommissioning projects.
You'll be working within the engineering team in collaboration with other discipline engineers to ensure safe execution of the projects in collaboration with the project engineering team lead or an appointed project manager.
You'll be assisting with planning and resource allocation, communicating with all parties involved, in the operational performance of the project/s within the area of responsibility. You'll also have the opportunity to maintain a close liaison with the project manager, and other parties, work proactively - meeting with client representatives and building lasting relationships
This role offer the opportunity to work as part of a cross-functional & multi-discipline team of pioneers who work within a hybrid model (3 days based in our Aberdeen office and 2 from home) and would be reporting in to our Project Engineering Team Lead.
Your role and responsibilities:
Here's a brief outline of what you might be involved in day to day, though there may be other duties, responsibilities and expectations in addition to this list:
You'd be responsible for successful delivery of projects from contract award to completion and close-out and also responsible for initial identification and confirmation of overall project work-scope and resultant delivery
We'd like you to be prepare methodologies, writing, checking and approving procedures, drawings and deck layouts. You'll also be attending and contributing to HIRA prior to offshore execution, be leading identification of additional project requirements and associated change control management, both in terms of deliverables and commercial impact
Help us provide input to tenders in association with the Commercial department such as scopes of work reviews, concept designs, CTR estimates etc
You'll be liaising with and provide technical support to workshop, procurement, operational teams and Clients as required
Ensuring that all activities are carried out with the highest regard to the health and safety of all involved and to the protection of the environment and prevention of pollution
Taking ownership of and adherence to engineering process for assigned projects

BEng / BSc or Meng / MSc degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related subject
Membership of Engineering Institution or working towards Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer registration
A strong amount of relevant work experience within the offshore energy industry
Thorough knowledge of working methods, planning and risk assessment
Knowledge of standards and relevant rules and regulations for the offshore industry and offshore installation projects (i.e. Subsea / ROV / marine operations)
Knowledge and experience of ROVs & ROV tooling
Experience in the development and testing of new engineering designs & equipment
Resourceful with problem-solving abilities
A practical approach and good communication skills
