Job Description

As a Fleet Support Technician, you will use your analytical and problem-solving skills to service, repair, and maintain Fugro’s fleet of Automatic Road Analyzers (ARAN) and other related systems/products. This role ensures the functionality and reliability of machines, engines, and mechanical systems by performing routine construction, operation, maintenance, testing, and repair of frequently used (measurement) equipment so that measurements of the required quality can be made in time in the field.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Service and maintain the fleet of Fugro ARANs

  • Maximize uptime for field operations fleet by implementing rapid response and preventative programs

  • Provide on-site support, as needed, and organize applicable travel

  • Install upgrades of hardware and software on existing fleet vehicles, as required

  • Learn all aspects of the ARAN subsystems and implement rapid diagnostics and troubleshooting which may lead to repair both on and off-site

  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of field operations equipment and spare parts

  • Help maintain Fleet Operations spare parts inventory

  • Provide preventative maintenance forecasting for vehicle chassis and equipment

  • Provide support to field operations staff, both by email and telephone, when on and off schedule, as needed

  • Provide training to Field Operators on Roadware hardware and software products

  • Provide feedback and corrective actions to other departments to improve product reliability and quality

  • Maintain proper documentation of fleet operation information and logs

  • Participate and meet the requirement of HSE training as per Health and Safety Training Matrix

  • Ensure accordance with company standards, industry standards, QHSSE policy, and local regulations

Job Requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.

  • Possess a High school diploma graduate or equivalent required, secondary vocational education in electronics or computer science is highly desired.

  • Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a lead role within a custom manufacturing and/or fabrication work environment.

  • Possess a background in electrical as an electronic technician or technologist.

  • Experience using a soldering iron.

  • Possess strong working knowledge of computers and fluent in a variety of software applications (including but not limited to MS Office).

  • Strong working knowledge of the Windows operating system, including but not limited to Windows XP/ 7.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical equipment

  • Extensive and constant travel is required; typical travel rotation is 21 days on/9 days off.

  • Work is primarily performed in confined areas (test vehicle) and will include an 8-12 hour day; flexible hours will be required as dictated by workload and field operations requirements.

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable record is required.
