Job Description

The Project Engineer manages day-to-day site characterization and asset integrity activities in the office and field and assists the project manager in delivering projects. The role requires a hands-on mentality and experience in planning, acquiring information, analyzing and interpreting data, and reporting geo-related land and nearshore projects. Technical sectors include intrusive ground investigation, geophysics, instrumentation and monitoring, testing of geo-materials, and related survey works.

The role includes engaging with a range of engineering practitioners, external and internal supply chain, and clients. It is an interactive role requiring strong communication skills and a can-do attitude to finding solutions. As experience is gained, the role offers project management and/or engineering-related opportunities and the potential to work abroad.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Assist in project management

  • Project planning

  • Logistical arrangements

  • Site supervision rising to assistant project management of ground investigation

  • Supervise testing of ground and/or ground-related structures

  • Supervise sample logging and prepare laboratory test schedules

  • Resource inventory management

  • Procurement, including best value buying, shipping, and logistics matters

  • Implementation and development of international techniques related to the work sectors

  • Factual and interpretative reporting of field campaigns

  • Exercising strong QHSSE principles

  • Other engineering duties

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree in geology/engineering/survey, or related subject

  • 2-5 years relevant work experience in the geo-related industry

  • Fluent in English and Tagalog, both written and oral

  • Self-driven, with excellent team spirit and good interpersonal skills

  • Good IT proficiency

  • Inquisitive nature with an interest in innovating and developing in the field of practice

  • Desire to represent the skills and abilities of Fugro within professional and learned societies
