Job Description

Job Responsibilities

1. Operational

  • Act as directed on all HSSE matters in Japan and associated project locations.

  • Provide first aid and acute pre-hospital care to project locations

  • Champion all HSSE related initiatives, plans, and campaigns.

  • Liaise with client and / or internal departments regarding HSSE matters.

  • Develop project related HSSE risk assessment, plans and procedures.

  • Improve workforce HSSE awareness.

  • Advise management of any HSSE deficiencies and assist with improvement plans.

  • Assist with incident investigation and reporting.

  • Participate in management, HSSE, and project meetings.

  • Review and advise management on client and other contractual HSSE requirements.

  • Participate in HSSE audit schedule.

  • Site inspections.

2.        Financial

  • Manage within allocated budget.

3.       Marketing

  • Assist in promoting and marketing Fugro services through exemplary

4.        Personnel

  • Interact with all personnel in accordance with Fugro HR Policy and Procedures

5.         Principal Working Relationships

  • Working with and supporting internal and external customers on all HSSE matters to enable compliance with Japan’s legislation, Company management systems, and client requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Qualification in Health and Safety Management, or Environmental Management, or Risk Management, or related Offshore / Nearshore / Subsea discipline.

  • Previous working experience as a Paramedic, or Emergency Medical Technician, or Offshore Medic, or Nurse in an Emergency Department setting.

  • Registered, or eligible to be registered, as a Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician in Japan according to local legislation.

  • Eligible to act in the HSSE Advisor role according to local legislation.

  • More than 3 years of professional experience directly related to the role

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including spoken and written Japanese and English language.

  • Working knowledge of Offshore / Nearshore survey environment (desirable).
