Job Description
Responsibilities:
Review purchase requests (PRs) issued by employees of Fugro Japan and collaborate with the requester/project/operations team to secure multiple appropriate suppliers
Evaluate quotes with the requester/project/operations team, and decide on the best supplier through team consultation
Justify single supplier purchases by coordinating with stakeholders to apply for manager approval if necessary
Negotiate with suppliers on discounts, deals, and payment terms
Draft purchase orders (POs) and submit them for approval according to the authorized approval list
Act as a gatekeeper to ensure POs are approved per the authorized approval list
Communicate with suppliers to confirm their acceptance of POs, purchasing terms, payment terms, and QHSE requirements
Clearly define the prepayment ratio within the procurement system if prepayment is necessary
Arrange for suppliers to send invoices (attaching a copy of the PO and receipt of goods/services) to the designated email address
Attend regular meetings with procurement personnel in the Asia-Pacific region
Report to the procurement manager in the Asia-Pacific region
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher
Experience in procurement duties
Ability to communicate in English (conversationally, via email, document creation, and attending meetings)
Native or native-level Japanese language skills (reading, writing, speaking)
Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint for document creation Experience in procurement duties within a foreign company
Experience in project operations or management
TOEIC score of 750 or higher
Knowledge of commercial transactions such as bidding and contract negotiations
