Job Description

Discover the opportunity to be part of the Fugro Roads Innovation team, a highly innovative and diverse part of the Fugro organization. At Fugro, we're globally recognized for our unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence in geospatial solutions. Fugro Roads stands at the forefront of this legacy, driving innovation in the roadway infrastructure industry with our state-of-the-art product portfolio. Leveraging cutting-edge hardware, software solutions, and the power of artificial intelligence (AI), we deliver unparalleled roadway data that revolutionizes asset design, safety, and performance. Our dedication to pushing the boundaries of technology is evident in our utilization of advanced sensors such as LIDAR, deep learning, multi-camera systems, cloud computing, and inertial navigation systems. If you're ready to make your mark in software development and shape the future of roadway infrastructure, join us at Fugro Roads.

The Agile Product Owner (APO) plays a central role in our product teams, collaborating closely with users, business sponsors, and development teams to drive the discovery, design, acceptance, and adoption of our products. As a key member of our Roads product team, you'll be at the forefront of transformational technologies in the pavement and asset management industry. Reporting to the Innovation Manager and functionally to the Product Manager, you'll serve as the primary interface between our product team and end-users, ensuring seamless communication and alignment of goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead product discovery and organize strategic planning sessions.

  • Define and prioritize user stories for the Agile development team, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

  • Provide valuable feedback during Scrum sprints and end-of-sprint demos to drive continuous improvement.

  • Organize and conduct engaging product demos to showcase our innovations.

  • Manage, refine, and prioritize the Scrum backlog to maximize team efficiency and value delivery.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish relative estimates of value vs. effort for user stories.

  • Proactively communicate updates to stakeholders and manage expectations regarding deliverables and timelines.

  • Partner with the Team Lead to deliver product milestones on specification, on time, and within budget.

Job Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada or the United States, without restrictions.

  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid passport and travel internationally at times.

  • Understanding of pavement maintenance surveys and systems.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related engineering discipline, or 3 years equivalent experience.

  • Exceptional reading, writing, speaking, and listening communication skills in English.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly as it pertains to geospatial data and/or data processing at scale.

  • Experience working with product development teams is highly desired.

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and ArcGIS is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with Fugro in-house products (Vision, iVision5, ARAN) is desired.

  • Ability to work hybrid schedule: Minimum of 2 days in office per week with 3 days working remote.
