Job Description

Fugro Norway AS - Satellite Positioning Service Line is looking for a Senior Innovation Engineer GNSS

Fugro Satellite Positioning manages a global network of reference stations, monitoring signals from GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo) satellites and generating corrections to significantly improve the accuracy of unaugmented GNSS signals.

Correction messages are transmitted via a robust, fault-tolerant broadcast infrastructure, providing precise, reliable, real-time satellite positioning that is accurate worldwide, 24/7 availability and full redundancy under demanding conditions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Take initiative for and contribute to the improvement of existing Fugro Satellite Positioning products and tools

  • Contribute to research, development and testing of new solutions for precise GNSS applications

  • Support the development algorithms and methods within the GNSS domain

  • Be a technical resource within the Fugro organization, and help build GNSS competency across Fugro Satellite Positioning

  • Stay oriented about new research and leading-edge developments in GNSS and other relevant technologies

Desired background and preferred skills:

  • Experience with GNSS, ideally also with Precise Point Positioning technology

  • Thorough experience with GNSS positioning algorithms, GNSS Signal Theory, GNSS error budget and error modelling

  • Familiar with Agile project management principles and the Scrum methodology

  • Comfortable with using Python for data analysis (ideally in Linux)

  • Be able to work independently, as well as being a good team member and have an open personality

Qualifications required:

  • Recently graduated MSc in GNSS/ Geodesity/ Telecom/ Electrical Engineering/ Space Technology with a special interest in Global Navigation Satellite Systems

  • A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience within the GNSS/Space/Telecom/Satcom/SatPos industry

  • Good communication skills in both written and spoken English

Nice to have:

  • Comfortable with C++ programming in a Linus environment

  • Knowledge of Grafana monitoring tool

  • Basic knowledge of NetOps tools

  • Familiarity with Kalman Filter modelling
