Job Description

For our Nootdorp office we are looking for an enthusiastic and capable Team Lead to join us within our technology development team. You will work with us on our VirGeo product, a cloud-hosted, web-based Geo-data engagement platform.

With VirGeo, our clients will have all their Geo-data insights in one place, which they can access anywhere, anytime to de-risk their decision process and to help them manage a full lifecycle of an asset. VirGeo follows accelerated business build strategy within Fugro with a key objective being reoccurring revenue.

Your role

As Team Lead in our R&D team you have a key role in developing and delivering the innovative solutions for our customers. Leading the continuous improvement process from a software development team culture, personal development perspective is key to drive our growth. As Team Lead you are expected to be one of key technical engineers and lead others by example. You have problem solving mentality and help to shape the team to become self-driven, problem solving oriented and product focused.

In your role you will be

  • Actively contributing to development (expected at least 50% of your time); you are writing code and model solutions;

  • Guiding your team through continuous improvement, as well as guiding them in a journey to learn together, grow as individuals and enjoy the effect of increased productivity;

  • Accountable for the team’s progress;

  • Responsible for team building and participating in hiring people;

  • Responsible for development and delivery of new capabilities in the team;

  • Managing all the other team aspects on a day-to-day basis.

Your track record

  • You have a BSc/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent with at least 5 years experience of the industry;

  • You are a software developer focused on delivering high quality code that can set an example for other developers (preferred Python, C# or JavaScript);

  • You are experienced with CI/CD and serverless computing, as well as product feasibility testing;

  • You have experience leading a team and interacting with multiple teams in a preferably global setting;

  • You are a problem solver and able to motivate and organize the team to propose, validate and deliver a pragmatic solution;

  • You are able to handle ambiguity and to move forward with imperfect information and you get things done in a rapidly changing environment;

  • You are a strong communicator who likes to learn about the business side and eager to help others grow. Thereby you have a great understanding of scalability, performance, and reliability problems;

  • As a plus you have experience with modern cloud technologies, preferable AWS or Azure;

  • As a plus you understand/have experience with spatial concepts associated with Geo-data.
