Job Description
Responsible for planning and executing positioning and navigation tasks and data acquisition on, and being able to run/lead, projects of low to medium complexity. Responsible for: the correct offsets, measurements and calibrations of positioning equipment; the set-up and/or operation of survey equipment; carrying out computations and the compilation of survey reports; and the appropriate QC of data, computations and reports. Perform administrative duties that include being responsible for maintaining an accurate and complete logbook.
Complies with appropriate Company QHSSE procedures at all times.
Assist in carrying out calibrations of surface navigation, vessel offset measurement, USBL, MBES, etc. Awareness of Company standard procedures (eg Work Instructions)
Education
B.SC. level in Engineering (Survey/Civil) or equivalent
Working Experience
1-3 Years
Other Skills
Basic understanding of data acquisition QC and equipment calibration requirements.
Basic understanding of hydrography, including underwater acoustics and tidal parameters.
Basic understanding of surface and sub- surface positioning systems, including calibrations.
Clear understanding of survey coordinate reference systems and basic geodetic terminology.
Basic understanding of conventional land survey techniques.
