The Principal Surveyor will act as the technical lead in the surveying discipline and functionally lead teams and/or high-complexity projects to provide accurate and customized services to clients**.** This role will maintain regional recognition as an authority within the field of expertise, make decisions, and have an important impact on extensive surveying activities. The role will also be involved leading activities associated with surveying services, and leading technical development.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Meet with clients, project management staff, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to develop project requirements, field and processing procedures, progress reports, final reports, and survey plats.

  • Collaborate with the commercial manager during project proposal phases.

  • Collaborate with the project manager during project proposal, preparation, execution, post-processing, and delivery phases.

  • Develop, implement, and enforce company survey procedures in conformance with state Standards of Practice, state and federal laws, and contract requirements.

  • Direct supervision of paraprofessional staff.

  • Review, approve, and sign survey plats developed and prepared by paraprofessional staff.

  • Mentor and develop paraprofessional staff.

  • Fulfill continuing education requirements for licensure renewal.

  • Manage personal land survey licenses and firm authorizations.

Job Requirements:

  • Legally Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.

  • ABET accredited four-year degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of surveying experience with emphasis on geospatial solutions

  • Successful completion of NCEES FS and PS exams.

  • Licensure as a professional land surveyor in Texas and Louisiana.

  • Willingness to pursue licensure in additional states as dictated by corporate priorities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.

  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid passport, for international travel/assignments required.
