The Opportunity

This role forms part of our 12-week paid summer Vacation Program, that runs between November 2025 – February 2026.  Fugro’s Vacation Program is a key recruitment strategy for our future Graduate offers and creates a platform and opportunity for you to gain hands on experience to determine if this career direction is for you, whilst equally showcasing your ability, motivation, and attitude to our team.

As a Vacation Student - Design Engineer, you will get to be involved in Project Design/Structural Engineering Design, located in West Perth, where you would support our teams with:

• Design of steel structures, subsea installation aids, or similar

• Performing design calculations

• Assisting projecting engineering team as required

Based in West Perth, this role forms part of our Marine Asset Integrity (MAI) area, which will give you solid fundamental knowledge and exposure to projects in our Subsea Inspection, Repair, Maintenance (IRM) and Marine Operations portion of the business.

About You

We are interested in taking applicants from the following courses.

• Mechanical Engineering

• Civil/Structural Engineering

• Naval Architecture

• Similar engineering fields

Your success in securing this role will require:

• Proficient in SolidWorks or other 3D modelling software

• Be in your penultimate year of your degree

• Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel

• Good verbal communication, interfacing and writing skills

• Hands on practical experience (part of motorsports team, previous trade experience, hobbyist, etc.) would be an advantage
