Experienced Diamond Driller and Geotechnical Technician

We are seeking an Experienced Driller to join our land team, based in Balcatta, WA. Exploration RC Drillers are invited to apply, and we will provide training to fill any gaps.

We offer:

•         $60 to $70 per hour, experience dependent

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for operating and maintaining a range of drilling and testing equipment, mentoring junior staff on site and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Duties include:

•         Identify and arrange site access, required plant and equipment and water supplies

•         Bring required gear to site and set up with the offsider

•         Geotechnical drilling using a Hanjin 8D drilling machine, with drilling depths typically 15 to 25m, HQ

•         Conduct Standard Penetration Tests and sampling

•         Operate Cone Penetration Testing rigs, including track and truck mounted CPT rigs

•         Be the site contact for clients

•         Troubleshoot, fix and maintain equipment as required

Other equipment you may be required to operate:

•         Small auger drill rigs on 4WD Utes

•         DPSH rig

•         Dual tube percussive rig with hollow auger capability

•         Backhoe or excavator

About You

We are looking for someone who can think on their feet, troubleshoot in the field and take ownership of both equipment and outcomes on site.

Your success in securing this role will require:

Essential:

•         Proven experience in drilling or a similar field-based role, with at least 5 years in a driller role (not off siding)

•         Strong mechanical and hydraulics repair experience

•         Ability to carry out minor repairs and keep equipment operational

•         HR truck license and comfortable driving a larger rigid axle 6 x 6 truck including trailers

•         Ability to lead or guide junior staff on site

•         White Card and a recognized Australian drilling certificate, or close to obtaining one

Highly regarded but not necessary:

•         Experience with Hanjin drilling rigs

•         Experience with diamond core drilling

•         CPT experience
