Job Description

Fugro’s Land, Asset Integrity, RSM, and Power service lines collectively help clients design, build, and maintain infrastructure by providing critical geo-data—from the ground below to the assets above and the environments around them.

The Production Coordinator assists the Production Manager in ensuring that the production team and production subcontractors have the information, resources, and tools needed to deliver all projects to clients on time, first time right while ensuring the profitability of the company. The Production Coordinator (PC) works closely with and supports the Production Manager in forecasting and scheduling required resources (both internal and subcontractors) to support upcoming work. The PC also assists in coordinating the flow of information, schedules, budgets, project specifications, etc. between Project/Program Managers, Project Staging & Control and the Production Manager, production leads, and subcontractors. In collaboration with the Production Manager and Business Systems Analyst, the incumbent will ensure that performance standards are communicated, monitored, measured, and improved and contribute to assurance that cost-effective technology and processes are used to maximize production and profitability; and people, processes, and assets are aligned with the company purpose, value, vision, and strategy.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.

  • Promptly elevate technical, schedule, cost, resource, or any other issue that may adversely impact performance (cost, schedule, quality, client satisfaction, etc.); in coordination with management and other functional groups, provide guidance to production supervisors on prioritization and issue resolution

  • Upon project award, create a detailed milestone schedule in coordination with production supervisors

  • Develop and maintain metrics that communicate department and staff performance to determine cycle time reduction goals, inspire staff to improve performance and productivity, and give a clear line of sight to company profitability

  • Track project schedules and hour and allocate the resources necessary to ensure that schedules can be met

  • Work with production supervisors to develop and communicate workplans, schedules, and budgets to subcontractors

  • Based on forecasted needs, evaluate the structure and size of the production team and make recommendations on hiring needs

  • Assist with identifying and developing subcontractor support, as needed

  • Evaluate software needs and communicate them to management and IT; coordinate with IT on new software purchase, lease, implementation, version control, updates, etc.

  • Support the Regional Operations Center Manager in creating and maintaining a highly motivated, high performing, client and budget focused department, and serve as a leadership example to the workforce.

  • Maximize use of labor resources to ensure high productivity returns that meet or exceed the effective billing rate for each project, with staff utilization meeting the percentage prescribed in the annual financial plan

  • Develop and maintain a metrics that communicates department and staff performance to determine cycle time reduction goals and give a clear line of sight to company profitability

  • Maintain a resource capacity forecast to understand utilization and monitor production capacity to make the most efficient use of internal and subcontractor capabilities

  • Work with production supervisors, S&T team, product engineer, and others to integrate new technologies, processes, workflows into production in a structured and non-disruptive manner

  • Consult with business development and production supervisors to create aggressive and achievable schedules for proposals and verify available capacity for potential projects

  • Provide reports, as required, that may include such information as deliver metrics, performance against budget and schedule, projects that have the potential to not meet delivery dates, current or future resource needs, process improvements and changes, and issues along with potential or corrective action plans

  • Ensure alignment between quality system and production processes, workflows, and results.

Job Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.

  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid passport, possible international travel/assignments

  • Possess a Bachelor degree  in Geospatial sciences, or related field.

  • Have 6 years production in the related geospatial sciences

  • Have 4 years or more successfully supervising geospatial production groups or coordinating between production and other functional groups

  • ASPRS certification, licensed surveyor, or other industry related certification preferred

  • Experience with or certification in continuous process improvement methodology (e.g. ISO, Six Sigma, Kaizen) is a plus

  • Ability to travel frequently to Frederick, MD and Rapid City, SD offices as well as other Fugro locations

  • Have fundamental knowledge of computer operations and a working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
