Job Purpose:
ROV Pilot Technician will assist ROV Supervisor during Offshore operations, Maintenance and Mobilisation of ROV System. As ROV Pilot Technician , He will work closely with ROV Supervisor , ROV Pilot technician and Project Manager and Resource Manager. Project Manager and Resource Manager will discuss his performance and career progress after each offshore trip.
Key Responsibilities:
As a ROV Pilot Technician you will assist the Supervisor in the smooth operation and maintenance of the Remotely Operated Vehicle System.
Coordinate planned maintenance schedules and Fault Finding for ROV, TMS, LARS, Control & Navigation system and all associated equipment and tooling.
Assess weather conditions and operational parameters for safe Launch/Recovery and ROV operations.
You will ensure that all work is undertaken to the highest quality and professionalism in accordance with the Company procedures and project specific documentation.
Ensure that all activities are carried out with the highest regard to the health and safety of all involved and to the protection of the environment and prevention of pollution.
Carrying out electrical and mechanical umbilical terminations independently.
To be safety aware, e.g. awareness of legislation/guidance to include reporting accidents – managing safety of team when required to supervise a shift.
To be capable in navigating ROV to work site when ROV Supervisor is not present and perform all Subsea activities.
To understand use of sonar, changes in range/scales, use of acoustic positioning systems used by ROV’s
Raise requisition for spares/consumables in a timely manner
Ability to co-ordinate dive records – video, audio and written
Assists the supervision of launch and recovery operations.
Maintain a high standard of communication of operational and safety information to team members
Check survey data received from field for completeness and quality.
Determine Processing/Drafting requirements together with Data Centre Manager.
Prepare & Set-up a processing plan for assigned projects and carry out processing for assigned projects.
Onshore / Offshore processing and Quality Control of navigation, bathymetry and all other survey data sets acquired on Vessel. This includes the following data sets: ROV data, AUV data, Multibeam data, Pipeline inspection / installation data sets, Positioning data sets, etc.
Managing the integrity of project data sets including the incorporation of data sets from 3rd party’s, in particular as-built data sets.
Carry out drafting activities for assigned projects compliant with Fugro charting standards.
Responsible for correct processing of survey data and for correct technical data submitted for the report.
Maintain survey results/charts/reports archive for all Jobs and store data in short and long term facilities.
Prepare and review processing procedures.
Required Experience & Skills:
Personnel with at least one main Bachelor of “Electrical/Electronics/Electro mechanics/Electrical Control /Mechatronics” Engineering and experience in other fields.
Minimum 5 years of experience as ROV Pilot Technician with Work class ROV.
ROV Pilot Technician should have minimum 1 year experience in water depth of more than 1500m.
Competent and capable of piloting skills during operations for Work class ROV and experience to operated 7 function and 5 function manipulator during subsea operations.
Experience and knowledge of working with Work class ROV and Inspection ROV’s, Subsea Tooling, and LARS.
Knowledge to configure Survey Sensor with ROV for Pipeline and Structure Survey.
Has experience working as part of a team during mobilisation and demobilisation.
Demonstrate working knowledge of the company IMS and associated ROV procedures.
Ensure all ROV Operations, maintenance and Safety related tasks in accordance with company procedures

Responsible for ensuring safety of self and others at site. Prevent damage of equipment and assets Responsible for following all safety signs/procedures/ safe working practices Responsible for using appropriate PPE’s Responsible for participating in mock drills. Entitled to refuse any to undertake any activity considered unsafe. Responsible for filling up of hazard observation card, wherever hazard has been noticed at site. Responsible for safe housekeeping of his work place. To stop any operation that is deemed unsafe To be able to operate fire extinguisher in case of fire To report an incident as soon as possible to immediate supervisor and HSE manager To complete HSE trainings as instructed to do so.
