Job Description

For our HQ in Nootdorp, we are looking for a Hosting Lead. In this role, you are responsible for defining, governing and maintaining global standards for all onprem and privatecloud hosting platforms, including servers, virtualization, middleware, storage, backup and tooling. You ensure that hosting operations align with enterprise policies, architectural direction and security requirements, while driving consistency and adoption across regional teams. You work closely with Architecture, Security, IT leadership and operational teams to ensure hosted solutions remain compliant, supportable and aligned with the long-term target architecture.

Your role

In this position:

  • You define, publish and manage global hosting standards across operating systems, hypervisors, middleware, storage, backup and platform tooling.

  • You establish governance frameworks including policies, guardrails, RACI models and exception processes with compensating controls.

  • You develop and maintain platform baselines (OS hardening, patch cadence, cluster configurations, TLS/cipher standards, logging, replication, retention and restore testing).

  • You create operating models for each hosting platform, ensuring alignment with security policies, audit requirements and lifecycle plans.

  • You build and maintain a joint roadmap with Architecture and Security, validating solution impacts within architectural and security boundaries.

  • You assess opportunities to reduce hosting risk, simplify the technology landscape and manage migrations or lifecycle transitions.

  • You evaluate vendor and platform options, document architectural fit and risks, and guide adoption of approved solutions.

  • You manage vendor relationships, contracts and license utilisation for hosting platforms.

  • You set measurable KPIs and dashboards (patch/vulnerability compliance, baseline drift, capacity, backup success, restore SLAs, change success) and drive remediation with regional teams.

  • You prepare for audits, maintain evidence, lead remediation plans and communicate standards and changes through documentation and enablement sessions;

  • You own lifecycle management for EOL/EOS technologies; plan upgrades/migrations and secure change windows.

Your track record

To be successful in this role:

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience.

  • You bring 8+ years of experience across hosting and cloud services, including servers, virtualization, storage, backup and tooling.

  • You have proven experience defining and governing platform standards across regions with strong documentation discipline.

  • You understand enterprise architecture and security frameworks and can validate designs within those boundaries.

  • You demonstrate leadership and influence across teams without relying on hierarchy.

  • You communicate effectively in English and excel in problemsolving and stakeholder management.

  • You thrive in fastpaced, constantly changing environments and can influence outcomes without direct authority.

  • You ideally bring certifications (ITIL, VMware, RHCE/Microsoft, CISSP/CISM, cloud foundations) or experience with observability, automation and regulated environments.
