Senior Cloud Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer who will act as a trusted partner to product, security, networking, and finance teams. You will design, implement, and mature cloud platform capabilities, governance, security, automation, and FinOps that enable safe, cost effective, and high velocity cloud adoption. While Azure is our core platform, you bring a cloud agnostic engineering mindset and apply best practices across providers where needed.

Your role

• You act as the primary backup to the Cloud Architect, ensuring continuity of standards, decisions, and platform roadmaps;

• You own and evolve Azure landing zones and core platform services with a cloud agnostic approach;

• You implement governance and security guardrails using Azure Policy, RBAC/PIM, management groups, and enterprise scale landing zones;

• You operationalize security tooling such as Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault, Private Endpoints, and Conditional Access;

• You build automated, reusable platform components using IaC (Bicep/Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines;

• You design and manage containerized workloads, GitOps governance, and Kubernetes platform standards;

• You drive FinOps practices including tagging, budgets, rightsizing, dashboards, and monthly optimization cycles;

• You enable teams through design reviews, best practice guidance, reference architectures, and L3 platform expertise.

Your track record

• You bring 7+ years of cloud/platform engineering experience, including 4+ years hands-on with Azure in enterprise environments;

• You have deep expertise in Azure landing zones, networking, identity, security controls, and IaC tooling;

• You have implemented enterprise grade security guardrails and integrated with SIEM/SOC platforms such as Sentinel;

• You have proven FinOps experience across tagging strategies, anomaly detection, reservations, and cost reporting;

• You script confidently in PowerShell, Python, or Bash;

• You understand modern cloud foundations: networking, identity, secrets management, CI/CD, and reusable module;
