Job Description

The Opportunity

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a full-time Junior Project Accountant (Junior Cost Controller) to join our Cost Control team.

Our Cost Control team is a support hub for our project teams, helping them ensure project financials are accurate, transparent, and aligned with both project goals and organisational expectations.

This role will be supporting the overall Cost Control team with data entry and admin tasks, as well as learning how to start taking on small projects of your own over time. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting cost controllers in estimating and monitoring project costs;

  • Preparing accurate monthly project forecasts and variance analysis;

  • Processing sales invoices, monitoring receipts and late payments;

  • Updating cost tracking tools and asset utilization registers;

  • Other tasks as requested.

About You

Your natural strength with numbers, strong attention to detail and genuine curiosity to learn will help you succeed in this role. In addition, we are looking for someone who has:

  • A genuine interest in Project Accounting;

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/ Finance or an AP/AR background;

  • Advanced to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills;

  • Organised with good time management and influencing skills in order to meet project deadlines on time;

  • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
