Geophysicist

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Junior Geophysicist to join our land geophysics team. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, comfortable working in field environments, and ready to support the planning, acquisition, processing, and interpretation of geophysical data for a variety of engineering and environmental projects.

This role provides hands‑on exposure to modern geophysical techniques and the opportunity to grow under the guidance of senior geophysicists.

Field Operations

• Assist in the execution of land‑based geophysical surveys (e.g., MASW, seismic refraction, downhole/PS logging, ERT, GPR, magnetic surveys).

• Support equipment setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and daily field checks.

• Collect high‑quality data following project specifications, safety standards, and QA/QC procedures.

• Prepare field logs, daily reports, and documentation of site conditions.

Data Processing & Interpretation

• Perform initial data processing using industry‑standard software.

• Assist in generating preliminary models, sections, and interpretations.

• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, figures, and deliverables.

Project Support

• Coordinate with project managers, senior geophysicists, and field teams.

• Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of geophysical equipment.

• Participate in HSE briefings and follow all safety protocols during fieldwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics, Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.

• Basic understanding of geophysical methods used in engineering and environmental applications.

• Familiarity with data acquisition systems and geophysical software is an advantage.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

• Willingness to travel and work in outdoor field environments.
