Job Description

As a Global Category Manager for Professional Services, you are at the forefront of developing and steering the comprehensive global category strategy for professional services across the entire Fugro organisation. Your role transcends traditional procurement and supply chain functions, encompassing strategic leadership in the design and execution of initiatives that align with complex business needs. Your mandate is to maximise value creation through sophisticated supplier relationship management and category innovation.

You report directly to the Global Head of Procurement & Supply Chain and be a key member of the global procurement and supply chain leadership team.

Your role

In this capacity, you will lead and influence the global professional services category management, including but not limited to:

  • You lead the development and execution of multi‑year, globally aligned category strategies that support long‑term business goals;

  • You conduct advanced spend, supplier market, and cost analyses to uncover strategic opportunities, risks, and efficiencies;

  • You manage executive‑level stakeholder and supplier relationships, driving alignment, high‑stakes negotiations, and innovation;

  • You champion category innovation by introducing new technologies, processes, and best practices across professional services;

  • You oversee global, regional, and country‑level category structures, ensuring optimal performance and strategic coherence;

  • You drive comprehensive risk management, sustainability, compliance, and supplier due‑diligence initiatives;

  • You lead long‑term category planning, contract management, and performance measurement to maximize value creation.

Your track record

  • You possess an advanced degree (preferably MBA) with a strong background in procurement or supply chain, and 10+ years of experience in global sourcing, contracting, or category management in complex multinational environments;

  • You hold proven leadership of large-scale global projects and change‑management initiatives across diverse teams and regions;

  • You have exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities, using data to inform and drive high‑impact business decisions;

  • You are a strong communicator and influencer with experience negotiating at executive level and managing strategic global supplier relationships;

  • You are fluent in English (additional languages preferred) with a hands‑on track record of delivering value in the professional services category.
