Business Controller

Job Description

For our Fleet Services organisation in Nootdorp, the Netherlands, we are looking for a Business Controller to join our Finance Team.

Are you ready to take on a finance role that goes far beyond the numbers? We’re looking for a Business Controller to help manage our global fleet of vessels. In this position, you’ll oversee the financial hygiene or our managed vessels and work closely with our vessel teams to ensure financial clarity and future insights.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a technical environment, understands the operational realities of fleet management and enjoys translating financial data into clear, actionable advice for our stakeholders.

Your role

• You take ownership of the financial hygiene of our vessel finances;

• You prepare and monitor operating budgets, ensuring accurate financial planning for the fleet in cooperation with the vessel teams;

• You collaborate with Vessel Managers to report on financial vessel performance;

• You liaise with Business Line financial stakeholders on the vessels’ financial performance and budgets;

• You analyse and evaluate additional costs and potential savings for our vessels;

• Together with the finance team you are responsible to make the necessary improvements in our accounting processes and structures;

• You are key player in the implementation of a new ERP in the Fleet Services entities.

Your track record

• You have at BSc. in a relevant discipline e.g. Economics, Control, Accounting or Business Administration, and previous working experience in Business Control;

• You have expertise in financial systems integration and analysis using Power BI is a must;

• You enjoy working in a team, have well developed analytical skills, you are accurate and pro-active.

• You are a strong relationship builder and can function in a matrix organisation, dealing with accountability and responsibility across multiple matrix lines;

• You take ownership and are a result-oriented person always striving for operational excellence;

• You have excellent English language skills and feel comfortable in an international & multistakeholder setting.
