Job Purpose:
Manages the purchasing activities and team by 1) taking part in the implementation and execution of the action plans, 2) overseeing the efficient purchasing process and procedures, and 3) ensuring that these take place efficiently, on time, and with the correct documentation. Supervises day-to-day purchasing activities and the team, managing a smaller group of people.
Key Responsibilities:
The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for all the purchasing department's activities in Fugro.
Actively engage with the business and develop key relationships with business stakeholders to assess the actual purchasing situation and identify improvement opportunities, and help to align with the Global strategy.
Processes and procedures for purchasing in line with SSC requirements.
Manage an efficient working process.
Manage KPIs for spend under control with a purchase order, 3 quotes per purchase, delivery performance, and savings.
Support professionalism, effectiveness, and efficiency by delivering bottom-line cost savings.
Identify cost reduction opportunities, preferential pricing, payment terms, and partnerships to bring more value to the business.
Actively reinforce general and legal compliance and requirements regarding quality, health, safety, sustainability, and environment (“QHSSE”).
Train the team and key users, communicate with Fugro colleagues about the purchasing management process and any other relevant areas as required.
Manage, motivate, and identify relevant training needs of the Purchasing team with a dynamic, enthusiastic approach.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager:
Help implement any Global strategy and roadmap.
Highest performance on key purchasing indicators.
Assist in developing and executing on the local Purchasing area the roadmap for the transformation of the Purchasing organization in the country.
Ensuring delivery of value to the Fugro business, progress on the roadmap and reporting savings and value created.
Share, track, and improve country purchase orders percentage of total invoices, spend under control, key suppliers’ management, spend reporting, and report on key initiatives on value created and bottom line savings of third-party spend through purchasing or what is requested from Global.
Collaborate in the country roll-out out the relevant ERP and Purchasing tools and support
Required Experience & Skills:
A minimum of 10-12 years of proven experience.
Strong communicator. Promotes open communication across the organization. Empowers & connects other people with positive impact, provides energy and demonstrates passion, trust & respect.
Takes ownership and initiative, acts with confidence, and works under own direction.

HSE Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring the safety of self and others at the site. Prevent damage to equipment and assets. Responsible for following all safety signs/procedures/ safe working practices. Responsible for using appropriate PPE’s Responsible for participating in mock drills. Entitled to refuse to undertake any activity considered unsafe. Responsible for filling up of hazard observation card, wherever a hazard has been noticed at site. Responsible for safe housekeeping of his workplace. To stop any operation that is deemed unsafe. To be able to operate a fire extinguisher in case of fire. To report an incident as soon as possible to the immediate supervisor and the HSE manager. To complete HSE training as instructed to do so.
