Architect the Future of Maritime Security with VirGeo
At Fugro, innovation is how we unlock insights from the Earth. Through our flagship initiative VirGeo, we’re building a cloud-hosted ecosystem that transforms how professionals interact with Geo-data—enabling real-time decision-making, situational awareness, and operational excellence across marine, energy, and infrastructure domains.
As a Solution Architect – Marine Security & Surveillance, you’ll help shape the next generation of secure, scalable, and intelligent systems that support maritime domain awareness. From integrating cutting-edge sensors to enabling real-time analytics, this is your opportunity to design solutions that protect critical infrastructure and support global security.
Your Role
As a Solution Architect, you’ll lead the design and delivery of complex, integrated systems that fuse multi-source data into actionable insights. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to translate operational needs into technical solutions that are robust, secure, and future-ready.
Define and maintain scalable, modular, and secure technical architectures.
Lead integration of radar, AIS, EO/IR, sonar, and other sensor data into unified platforms.
Ensure interoperability with maritime systems and compliance with international standards.
Drive adoption of emerging technologies like AI/ML, edge computing, and autonomous systems.
Collaborate with R&D to prototype and validate new capabilities.
Facilitate stakeholder workshops and ensure traceability from business needs to implementation.
Provide architectural guidance to delivery teams and enforce best practices in security and performance.
Represent Fugro’s technical vision in client engagements, proposals, and industry events.
Collaborate with Geo-consultancy, SS&M, and regional business lines to co-create client-centric solutions.
Support the recruitment and mentoring of technical talent in the marine security domain.
Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and technology acquisitions.
Contribute to the development of a secure, scalable, and modular marine surveillance platform architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivering Results: You focus on secure, high-performance solutions that exceed expectations.
Leading Change: You thrive in ambiguity and drive innovation in evolving threat landscapes.
Building High-Performing Teams: You mentor and inspire cross-functional teams across geographies.
Collaborating & Influencing: You build trust across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Innovating: You bring creative, feasible solutions to market.
Business Acumen: You understand the maritime security market and regulatory environment.
Business Building: You help grow our marine security portfolio from concept to scale.
