Job Description
For our dynamic Global Information Security team, we are looking for a forward-thinking Security Architect to join us. This position focuses on shaping and challenging the security architecture of Fugro's IT landscape. While this is an architect role, it's important to understand that we are not looking for someone who operates purely at a conceptual or theoretical level. We need a pragmatic architect who can apply security architectural principles in a dynamic, fast-moving complex environment. Someone who rolls up their sleeves, stays close to the technology, and translates principles into practical, workable solutions. Technical hands-on experience is a must.
You will be responsible for making the right architectural decisions based on Fugro's architecture principles and security guidelines. Your challenge is to strike the right balance between business needs, such as time-to-market and user experience, and implementing the measures required to safeguard our data, intellectual property, and reputation.
Would you like to influence strategic security direction and ensure seamless integration of security principles and practices across our technology environment, while staying hands-on with the technology that matters? Then this is the right role for you!
Your role
You are part of a multidisciplinary, globally operating central information security team, reporting to the Global Manager Information Security;
You collaborate closely with other architects in IT, you participate in architecture meetings to ensure alignment with Fugro's information security policies and principles;
You critically assess and challenge proposed IT solutions and designs and identify improvement opportunities for security controls;
You maintain a holistic, enterprise-wide overview of the security platforms and tools used within the company;
You support the Global Manager of Information Security in strategic decision-making and senior stakeholder management;
You design smart, scalable solutions in which security systems and technologies are integrated effectively within the IT and OT infrastructure;
You provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and hands-on support to stakeholders within (OT, IT and OT/IT Security teams), and stay current with the latest security technologies, trends, and threats;
You ensure alignment with recognized industry standards and best practices, including ISF SoGP, NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF), IEC 62443, and other relevant frameworks across IT, OT, and AI domains, embedding these pragmatically into Fugro’s security architecture and operations;
You evaluate and recommend innovative, future-proof security technologies, solutions, and services to strengthen the organization's security posture.
Your track record
You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
You have at least 5 years of experience in Information Security in an architectural role, with proven hands-on experience working with security platforms, industry standards, and tools.
You can demonstrate understanding of security architectural principles, and you can apply them in a pragmatic, fit-for-purpose manner within a dynamic environment, balancing the ideal with what is realistic and achievable.
You are comfortable moving between strategic architecture discussions and hands-on, technical deep-dives.
You have excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, combined with strong organizational and coordination capabilities.
You are a collaborative team player who guides and supports others by sharing knowledge and expertise, while acting as a trusted advisor who educates, trains, and enables stakeholders across the organization to adopt secure-by-design principles. You have excellent English language skills, both written and oral.
Relevant certifications are preferred: CISSP and/or CSP, SABA Practitioner level, ISA/IEC 62443 certification is a strong plus.
