Roles and Responsibilities

  • Process, quality-control, and analyze metocean data from a diverse range of sources, including offshore platforms, moored buoys, and remote sensing equipment deployed for future renewable energy sites.

  • Perform advanced statistical and time-series analyses on both measured and modelled datasets to characterise the marine environment and derive extreme and operational design criteria.

  • Synthesise complex analyses into clear, concise, and high-quality technical reports and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Ensure all deliverables meet the highest professional standards by adhering to company procedures, project-specific guidelines, and industry best practices.

  • Actively contribute to project management, including timeline adherence, budget awareness, and direct client liaison to understand needs and present findings.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Oceanography, Meteorology, Coastal Engineering, or a closely related marine/physical science field.

  • Strong foundational knowledge of oceanic and atmospheric physics.

  • Proven hands-on experience in processing and quality-assuring raw data from metocean instruments (e.g., ADCPs, wave buoys, weather stations).

  • High proficiency in statistical methods for environmental data analysis.

  • Demonstrated programming expertise for data analysis and automation, specifically in Python and MATLAB.

  • Experience in a project-based environment, with involvement in project management or direct client communication.

  • Excellent organisational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  • A collaborative team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Practical experience with numerical models such as ocean circulation models (e.g., ROMS, Delft-3D), spectral wave models (e.g., SWAN, WW3), or coastal/hydrodynamic models will be highly desirable.
