Job Description

The Staff Hydrogeologist is responsible for planning, executing, and managing hydrogeological investigations and groundwater assessment projects. The role involves field and office-based activities, including groundwater monitoring, aquifer testing, data analysis, technical reporting, client interaction, and project coordination. The Staff Hydrogeologist provides technical expertise to support water resources, environmental, infrastructure, and development projects while ensuring compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and supervise hydrogeological field investigations, including groundwater monitoring, sampling, aquifer testing, and well installation activities.

  • Analyze and interpret hydrogeological, hydrochemical, and hydraulic data to assess groundwater resources and environmental conditions.

  • Prepare technical reports, groundwater assessments, monitoring reports, and project documentation.

  • Support the development of conceptual hydrogeological models and groundwater flow assessments.

  • Maintain and manage hydrogeological databases, GIS information, and project records.

  • Coordinate project activities to ensure timely delivery within scope, budget, and quality requirements.

  • Provide technical support and consultation to clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Support proposal preparation, technical studies, and business development activities.

  • Mentor junior hydrogeologists and provide guidance during field and office assignments.

  • Ensure compliance with company QHSSE policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Promote continuous improvement in technical quality, safety, and operational performance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Geological Engineering, Environmental Science, Geosciences, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in hydrogeology, groundwater investigations, or water resources projects.

  • Experience in groundwater monitoring, aquifer testing, and hydrogeological data interpretation.

  • Knowledge of groundwater modelling and GIS applications is desirable.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant hydrogeological data management software.

  • Strong technical reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Willingness to travel for field assignments as required.
