Job Description

Join Fugro as a Quantity Surveyor to join our UK Land business based in Wallingford, England. This is a Fixed Term Contract for 12 Months.

Reporting to the senior quantity surveyor, you will provide commercial, contractual and financial support throughout both tendering and project delivery phases. Working closely with project managers and commercial colleagues, you will help protect Fugro’s commercial interests while supporting successful project delivery and strong financial performance.

This role offers exposure to a diverse range of projects across the land sector and would suit an individual with experience in civil engineering, ground investigation or the wider construction industry.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Reviewing contract documentation and identifying commercial risks and opportunities;

  • Supporting contract negotiations and tender review activities;

  • Providing commercial and contractual support to project managers and project teams;

  • Assisting with project cost control, forecasting and financial reporting;

  • Supporting revenue measurement and reconciliation activities;

  • Assisting with applications for payment and invoicing processes;

  • Supporting the management of contractual variations, claims and disputes;

  • Contributing to monthly, quarterly and budget reporting activities;

  • Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

What you’ll need to thrive in this role:

We are looking for a commercially minded professional who can work collaboratively across projects while maintaining a strong focus on detail, risk management and project performance.

You will ideally have:

  • A degree in quantity surveying or an equivalent academic or professional qualification;

  • Experience within civil engineering, ground investigation or the construction industry;

  • Experience managing or supporting commercial, contractual, project control and financial processes;

  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts;

  • Knowledge of other standard forms of contract, including ICC contracts;

  • Strong commercial and business acumen;

  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills;

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills;

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and wider IT skills.
