Job Purpose:
Solves complex geotechnical engineering challenges for clients where precedents may be lacking by performing complex/advanced geotechnical engineering work encompassing data acquisition, collation, processing, interpretation and reporting in highly complex, impactful projects. Provides geotechnical engineering advice across a broad range of specialized technical disciplines, crafting innovative data-driven solutions for complex clients by reviewing and improving the integration of geotechnical data into practical applications, proposing improvements to research methods and quality systems. Supports the establishment and compilation of regional and global procedures, recommending follow-up investigations and refinements to customized services. Recognizes and acts on variation order opportunities. Provides and reviews technical input to commercial tenders. Conducts (overall) review of technical correctness and consistency of service product. Receives minimal guidance. Acts as escalation point for project team members. Often supervises project team, managing tasks and distributing responsibilities for success in project execution, though direct people management is not a focus. Requires a college or university degree or equivalent professional and intellectual capacities, significant work experience, and in-depth knowledge of the organization, customers, and the industry. Has a good network of clients and industry relationships. May perform research on new technologies and new methodologies (e.g. AI). May write papers and may present at conferences depending on personal development needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with clients to understand their technical and engineering requirements, provide expert guidance, and customize optimal solutions to meet project and business objectives.
Conduct site visits, technical assessments, process evaluations, and external market research to identify opportunities, challenges, and emerging industry trends.
Lead the development of business opportunities through client engagement, technical presentations, negotiations, and strategic relationship management with prospective and existing clients.
Manage and oversee the implementation of technical and engineering solutions, including project delivery, troubleshooting, process improvement, and evaluation of solution effectiveness.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term business partnerships.
Prepare project budgets and commercial proposals, including cost estimation, tendering, contract negotiations, and project renewal discussions with clients.
Manage resources, budgets, and personnel assigned to the Geotechnical/GeoConsulting business line, while monitoring performance against defined objectives and targets.
Conduct technical analyses and ensure the delivery of high-quality reports and engineering recommendations.
Collaborate with Regional Service Line Managers (RSLMs) and other stakeholders to secure, execute, and deliver complex projects while driving operational excellence and digital transformation initiatives.
Monitor business and market trends, maintain effective communication with Business Line Management, and provide recommendations and business cases for strategic improvements.
Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the organization in line with business requirements and individual competencies.
Required Experience & Skills:
8–12 years of relevant professional experience in geotechnical engineering, geoconsulting, project delivery, and business development.
Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
Strong technical expertise in geotechnical analysis and design, with proficiency in industry-standard software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, AutoCAD, Slide2, and Liquefy5.
Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles and geotechnical software tools to deliver practical, high-quality solutions for complex projects.
Strong ownership mindset with the ability to take initiative, work independently, drive results, and make sound decisions with confidence.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage clients, colleagues, and cross-functional teams.
Proven ability to foster open communication, build strong relationships, and collaborate across the organization.
Demonstrates leadership qualities by empowering others, creating positive impact, and inspiring trust, respect, and engagement.
Highly motivated, proactive, and passionate about delivering business value, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

HSE Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring the safety of self and others at the site. Prevent damage to equipment and assets. Responsible for following all safety signs/procedures/ safe working practices. Responsible for using appropriate PPE’s Responsible for participating in mock drills. Entitled to refuse to undertake any activity considered unsafe. Responsible for filling up of hazard observation card, wherever a hazard has been noticed at site. Responsible for safe housekeeping of his workplace. To stop any operation that is deemed unsafe. To be able to operate a fire extinguisher in case of fire. To report an incident as soon as possible to the immediate supervisor and the HSE manager. To complete HSE training as instructed to do so.
