Job Description

Part of Fugro’s procurement strategy is to improve suppliers’ contracting and to effectively manage suppliers’ risks. To help the Procurement department achieve that, Fugro is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Legal Counsel Procurement to join the Global Procurement department in Fugro’s headquarters in Nootdorp. The role will report to the Head of the Legal Procurement team based in the Netherlands. As a member of both the Procurement and the Legal and Compliance team, and as a procurement lawyer for Fugro, you play a crucial role in partnering with our Procurement team and other teams in the business.

Your role

  • You handle various procurement related legal issues in an international and dynamic setting;

  • You draft, review, negotiate, and advise on procurement contracts in the fields of ICT, third party personnel, and corporate (professional) services. Occasionally you support with technical products and services contracts with suppliers. Typical documents for review include global/framework agreements, master services agreements, purchase orders, terms & conditions, software (license) agreements, non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements.

  • You leverage contract efficiencies by developing, updating, and promoting the use of procurement contract templates;

  • You promote the role of the Procurement department and good contract management practices throughout the company, including providing training sessions;

  • You cooperate closely with various internal stakeholders (procurement, business, tax, insurance, ICT, etc.).

Your track record

  • You have a Law degree and 5+ years of in-house experience in procurement contract drafting, review, and negotiation in an international setting;

  • You are passionate about procurement and motivated to contribute to Fugro’s mission of creating a safe and more liveable world;

  • You bring experience with ICT contracts, including exposure to AI, and a strong curiosity for technology;

  • You are a proactive, pragmatic self-starter with a results-driven mindset and the ability to work independently and within global teams;

  • You have strong relationship-building skills and excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
