At VirGeo, we provide a purpose-built, cloud-based platform that gives enterprises a single source of truth for all their geo-data — independent of who acquired it, when it was created, or which project it originated from. Unlike generic file-sharing tools, VirGeo understands geo-data: files are linked to precise geographic locations and visualised on interactive maps, making it easy to access data based on where it was collected.
As part of Fugro, we combine global expertise with innovative digital solutions to help clients unlock the value of geo-data. We are now looking for a Head of Sales to lead VirGeo’s commercial growth and global expansion within the energy industry and subsequently into adjacent industries.
In this role, you will spearhead the scaling of VirGeo across the energy industry and beyond. You shape and execute the commercial strategy, build strong client relationships, and position VirGeo as a leading geo-data platform worldwide.
Your role
You lead the development and execution of sales strategies, driving growth within the VirGeo commercial team and across Fugro’s regions;
You shape the market for VirGeo by leading external conversations with prospective clients and industry partners;
You drive client engagement, manage and develop a team of 4–6 sales and marketing professionals and coach your team to build strong, lasting relationships;
You educate Fugro’s commercial organisation on VirGeo, enabling teams with the right knowledge and tools to increase sales;
You lead the development of sales and marketing materials in close collaboration with the product team;
You identify and pursue new market opportunities and contribute to the broader growth strategy of VirGeo;
You actively contribute to scaling VirGeo into a repeatable SaaS-based commercial model.
Your track record
You have relevant degree in geo-related discipline (e.g. Geo-Science, GIS, Engineering) with 10+ years’ experience in the energy sector or similar;
You possess a strong industry network with a proven ability to leverage relationships to drive commercial growth;
You have demonstrated success in business development, sales, or commercial leadership roles;
You have a solid understanding of the asset lifecycle and proven ability to develop project opportunities;
You are experienced with SaaS business models and building scalable go-to-market strategies for digital products;
You are an inspiring leader with strong client management, collaboration skills, and a proactive, growth-oriented mindset.
