Job Description
Join Fugro Satellite Positioning as our next Software Quality Assurance Engineer in Nootdorp, the Netherlands — and help shape the future of high‑precision technology. In this role, you will serve as the trusted right hand to our Software Quality Assurance Manager, contributing directly to the quality and reliability of our products and processes.
We’re looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering and quality. You bring a solid technical background and know how to work with developers, not against them. You’re the kind of person who removes friction, not creates it — someone who can step into a developer’s shoes, understand the realities of product development, and still champion quality with confidence. With strong experience in software QA and hands‑on testing, you know how to spot issues early, guide teams toward better practices, and elevate the overall quality of our products. Your mindset is continuous improvement, and your impact is felt in every process you help refine and implement.
Our Satellite Positioning department delivers the high‑precision positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) services that power safe and reliable operations across the maritime, offshore, and energy sectors. Our team develops and maintains the technology behind Fugro’s industry‑leading positioning services, including real‑time correction delivery via satellite and internet, multi‑constellation GNSS integration, and robust monitoring systems that ensure reliability, availability, and performance.
Your role
Function as a regional point of contact for the QA Manager, ensuring alignment between regional teams and quality objectives.
Oversee the implementation of the SQA processes and provide ongoing support to development teams to ensure consistent application of quality standards, while contributing to QA process development and continuous improvement.
Guide and support teams in applying QA processes in practice, offering structure, governance, and hands-on support, including contributing to testing activities when required.
Contribute across all phases of the project lifecycle, including requirements review, test planning and execution, reporting, and quality assessments.
Identify and mitigate project risks through escalation/delegation of issues to appropriate members of the project team.
Monitor and support the teams with the completion of software development milestones, ensuring required reporting and adherence to set quality goals.
Drive continuous improvement by actively participating in the enhancement of business processes and systems used for software development.
Your track record
You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
You possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, with proven expertise in software testing and compliance verification, ideally gained within a structured, safety‑critical, or otherwise regulated development environment.
You have a strong understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and hands‑on experience working with Agile methodologies.
You possess solid experience with Jira. Knowledge of ISO standards or Global Navigation Satellite Systems is considered an advantage.
You demonstrate a strong understanding of Software QA methodologies, standards, and tools, and have the ability to apply them effectively throughout the development lifecycle.
You have excellent English communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to clearly articulate technical and quality‑related information.
